After much research and an extremely limited budget, I got what I wanted in a car stereo. The problem?I replaced a Pioneer I hated with a new Pioneer.Unfortunately, it was the only one of any quality that offered the features I wanted. My wants are simple.I wanted a great tuner because I enjoy both FM and AM radio.I wanted a great CD player because I have a ton of great music and finally, I wanted a stereo that easily plays Ipod's.So, I had to spring for a little extra equipment. It was worth it.

It's been all of 24 hours and so far, I am thrilled. The sound seems sharper and cleaner. The lows are deep and clean, the highs sharp and crisp. Most surprising of all is that the imaging is much better than the old system and it had an imaging feature that allowed you to adjust that for yourself.(My old stereo was fine.It was the CD player. It wouldn't eject and was a problem all along.Otherwise, I was very happy with it).The radio is everything I expected it to be and even more. What was always great is now just plain amazing.

The controls are very different and a bit disconcerting, but that's just a matter of getting used to it.I found that using the included remote control is actually simpler than trying to manipulate the controls on the stereo itself.Like I said, though, I have yet to learn it.

My car is a big, noisy van, so the most useful and appreciated feature is the EQ with six preset curves. It makes it so much easier to hear, especially when listening to talk radio or the news.Voices are sharp and clear when set to the "voice" setting.Like most new systems, it puts a lot of emphasis on bass control and input, but it is not forced on you.It is there if you need it, but if you don't like you Dylan with extra boom, you don't have to have it.I love that. The EQ also allows you to create your own curves and saves them, as well.

So far, I am very impressed.I'll write another review if I change my mind, or learn anything noteworthy.
